The Country Terrace has an enviable position, perched on a cliff top in Mġarr, Gozo. Originally a farmhouse, the traditional building has been extended with a huge terrace that provides panoramic views of the marina and across the channel. At night, subtle lighting, twinkly fairy lights, soft ambient music, and the fact that tables for two are positioned on the terrace edge away from tables for larger groups, makes this perhaps the most romantic of alfresco dining spots on the Maltese islands.
The menu is primarily Mediterranean, with a large range of pasta dishes including gluten-free as well as many vegetarian choices, and fish and meat options. Popular choices include tuna tartare and New Zealand beef fillets as well as a range of fresh locally-caught fish and traditional rabbit and quail dishes. A comprehensive wine and cocktail list complements the menu.
