Il-Kartell opened its doors in 1973. The building consists of three original boathouses connected together by arches that give the restaurant a rustic and warm atmosphere. The tables and chairs were originally made out of real wine barrels thus the restaurant got its name. It was the very first family-run restaurant of its kind in Marsalforn, as others formed part of hotels.
Since then, the owners have striven to provide the best possible food served in this unique seashore location, pampered by their capable crew.
The menu offers a wide variety of freshly made soups, salads, hot and cold starters followed by their renowned main courses and desserts. If you prefer to try something different, ask for the day’s specialty. Il-Kartell is committed to provide sustainable traditional cuisine based on local produce thus minimising on their carbon footprint.
